Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The second-largest department within the College of Medicine, Internal Medicine is made up of nine divisions, each with dedicated staff and world-renowned faculty members who provide the best evidence-based care to patients while conducting leading-edge research and providing the most innovative and hands-on education to the physicians and researchers of tomorrow. The Director of Program Development will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and development of innovative and strategic clinical and academic programs for the Department of Internal Medicine's clinical, research, and education missions. This individual will also as Senior Business Administrator with responsibility for training and development of other business administrators within the department. Essential Functions Advises the Chief Administrative Officer/Executive Director of Business Administration on issues related to department operations and program development spanning all three missions. Develops, analyzes, and compiles metrics and data to assist in evaluation of clinical, research, and education programs. Presents results to department faculty and leadership and works collaboratively to develop strategies to further improve program success. Acts as a resource to train and mentor Business Administrators and Managers on department, health system, and university finance and operations practices. Directly manages one of the department's divisions and/or core missions. Identifies new revenue streams to advance the department's goals. Serves as a subject matter expert for clinical operational data management, including supporting dashboard development, maintenance, and encouraging ongoing use of data to drive decision making. Works directly with providers, clinical managers, and business administrators to resolve system barriers and streamline processes. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree with five (5) years' experience; - OR- Associate's degree and seven (7) years' experience; -OR- nine (9) years' experience; degree must be in Business Administration or related field. Financial and administrative experience is required and must include three (3) years supervision. Incumbent must possess the business/financial experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments. Incumbent must possess an ability to function as either the business expert in a single highly complex and integrated business area or as the business expert in multiple complex financial areas and understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and must possess substantial kno
