Conemaugh Miners Medical Center is seeking a part-time Dietary Worker. The Dietary Worker performs various duties to provide quality food service to patients and customers. Is responsible to provide excellent customer service in a clean environment and friendly atmosphere. Performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation duties according to the HACCP standards.**

Essential Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a working knowledge of food preparation and batch cooking.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of food service sanitation, safety, and quality control standards.

Assembles trays for patients on modified diets according to standard of individualized menus.

Serves customers promptly, is courteous and attentive to customer’s needs.

Practices correct portion control; serves food attractively.

Will be cross-trained and required to perform duties in retail areas, patient food service areas,and utility areas if assigned.

Follows proper cash handling procedures and completes necessary documentation in an accurate manner.

Cleans and sanitizes work area utensils, and equipment according to HACCP standards.

When assigned, transports food to patient floors, retail areas and other satellite locations.

Follows proper procedures when operating dish machine.

Maintains working knowledge of chemicals used in the department and wears proper protective gear.

Properly empties and disposes of refuse daily according to written policies and procedures, if assigned.

Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Maintains a professional appearance; adheres to established dress code.

Maintains appropriate commitment to department in terms of attendance and hours of work.

Follows safety procedures and guidelines; reports unsafe practice or conditions.

Attends employee in-services, department and work group meetings; demonstrated knowledge of information learned.

Job Qualification: * *Education:

High School diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

Previous food service experience in food preparation and following standardized recipes is required.

Knowledge of simple modified diets is preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Serve Safe certification is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read, write, communicate and follow written and oral instructions.

Ability to interact with patients and customers in a positive, friendly manner.

Ability to learn and apply simple modified diets and principles of basic nutrition.

Basic math skills required.

All performance standards must be met.
