This role maintains key relationships with the U of M system PSEO coordinators, the Minnesota Department of Education, and other U of M stakeholders. The Associate Director is responsible for integrating the U of M advising framework into the PSEO and CIS advising model, determining advising outcomes, and creating assessment strategies to measure success toward those outcomes. The Associate Director will actively cultivate a climate of inclusion and belonging by integrating the diverse experiences and backgrounds of CIS and PSEO students into the unit's advising practices, orientation, and support resources. Dual enrollment is the broad term for programs that allow high school students to take college courses at a university (PSEO) or at the high school taught by high school staff (CIS) at no cost to them. In Minnesota, the PSEO Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) Act guides how these programs are managed. This position reports to the Director of Dual Enrollment and works on the East Bank with the option of working remotely several days a week. The search committee will begin reviewing applications the week of May 27th and will continue until the position is filled. The salary range for the position is $71,000 - $76,000, based on qualifications. PSEO Program Administration (60%) 1. Direct PSEO program admissions, registration, advising, and orientation, serving 750+ high school students annually. 2. Oversee small staff of professionals, including supervision of the academic advisors, Executive Office Assistant, and Operations Manager. Ensure that program staffing structure, responsibilities, and practices lead to the efficient and effective realization of the program goals. 3. Review PSEO applications and work with PSEO advising to make admission decisions. 4. Work with the staff to regularly review the PSEO Student Handbook, information session brochure, and web pages. 5. Advise a caseload of PSEO students as needed. 6. Set annual PSEO program goals and advising outcomes in consultation with the team and Director of Dual Enrollment. Create assessment strategies to monitor those goals and outcomes. 7. As appropriate, set and monitor program policy and procedures. 8. Manage and monitor the PSEO budget. 9. In collaboration with CCAPS Student Services, oversee the process of collecting PSEO and CIS PeopleSoft student data for the U of M system, which is then reported to the MN Department of Education. 10. Work with the Operations Manager to gather and analyze data regarding student performance, satisfaction, and demographics. Disseminate to stakeholders and constituents as appropriate. Use the results for program improvement. 11. In collaboration with CCAPS IT, maintain PSEO reports. Dual Enrollment Advising Resources and Projects (20%) 1. Guide and support the work of creating and maintaining the CIS web-based advising resources that serve over 8,000 CIS students. 2. Regularly update CIS faculty coordinators, instructors, and staff on advising resources. 3. Create a system for CIS students to meet virtually with advising staff if needed. 4. Support CIS instructors on advising related issues and student concerns. 5. Partner with the Disability Resource Center to support CIS students. 6. Attend weekly CIS staff meetings. 7. Work with the Director of Dual Enrollment on CIS projects as needed. Stakeholder Relations (20%) 1. Maintain strong partnerships with U of M departments and committees (e.g., Advising Coordinators Group [ACG], A LUS Working Group, Admissions, Orientation and Transition Experiences, Bookstore, Writing Studies, and others). 2. Partner with the American Indian Studies department and the School of Music to manage the PSEO options within both programs. Serve as the contact for other U of M departments interested in exploring PSEO opportunities for their courses. 3. Work with the freshmen-admitting colleges and the University Honors Program to understand their curriculum and program requirements in order to inform CIS and PSEO advising practices. 4. Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders outside the U of M Twin Cities campus, including the Minnesota Department of Education, U of M system PSEO coordinators, and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to assure compliance with PSEO legislation. Qualifications REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus 4 years of undergraduate advising experience or a masters degree plus 2 years of undergraduate advising experience. Supervisory experience with either students or staff. Demonstrated team-building and leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to identify, manage, and solve problems. Demonstrable knowledge and skills related to DEI. PREFERRED: Program administration experience. Experience creating advising resources using Google Sites, YouTube, social media, Canvas, and other tools. Experience with U of M undergraduate advising. Experience with APLUS, Google Documents, and PeopleSoft.
