Advance Local Account Executive in Staten Island, New York

Position : Account Executive

Location : Staten Island, NY

Compensation for this position is comprised of a base salary plus incentive compensation. The base salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Additional incentives bring total potential compensation to $90,000 - $97,500.

As an Advance Local Account Executive with the Staten Island Advance and SIlive.com , you will be part of a dynamic sales team driving advertising revenue for one of the country's largest privately-owned media companies. Your sales success will come from new business development efforts, as well as client growth, through our industry-leading digital and print advertising products. You'll be supported by our leadership team, our interactive sales and product training program, and our commitment to provide resources for your successful sales career.

This job requires reliable transportation to meet with customers, as well as travel to our Staten Island office 1 -2 times per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Achieve your sales goals by prospecting new business and developing existing accounts to grow our overall brand

  • Meet with local decision-makers to uncover and understand their business needs and goals and advise clients on our comprehensive product mix including digital ads, search, social, email, video, mobile and print solutions

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design custom advertising solutions and marketing campaigns to fit your clients' needs, and to close new business

  • Present solutions to clients, working collaboratively to achieve the product mix aligned to their goals

  • Build rapport with clients for retention and upselling

  • Review campaign results, learn from data and celebrate your successes

  • Work with our advertising fulfillment team to provide performance data insights for each client campaign

  • Organize your day by pivoting to various sales activities to continuously build your pipeline, and work under deadlines

  • Use your self-motivation and resilience to persevere through the cold-calling process

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education with related experience

  • Experience in digital advertising would give you a head start

  • Proven success of increasing sales, meeting and exceeding quotas in a competitive marketplace, using a solution-based selling approach

  • Experience selling in the Healthcare, Education, or Home Services industries are a plus

  • Ability to control the sales process both virtually and in person

  • Skills to effectively negotiate and close sales with our products

  • Creative mindset to break down barriers and overcome objections

  • Excellent communication skills - to write, create and deliver compelling presentations, with a polished demeanor

  • Familiarity with CRM sales management software experience, ideally SalesForce (we'll provide training)

  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Power Point & Excel to create presentations and review data
