The Job:

Reporting to the VP, HR JSS and managing a team of HR Managers and professionals, the HR Director will be a trusted partner to the senior leadership team of two Business Units – Aerospace & Manufacturing (A&M) and Electrification & Mobility (E&M) - where he/she will conceptualize, advice and execute HR roadmap, strategies and initiatives to support their growth trajectory in Americas. As part of the SBD HR transformation journey, the HR Director will support a culture of high performance in the organization while establishing a best-in-class HR operational processes and policies to enable efficiency and optimization in its resources. This will include being a coach and mentor to the HR team to identify learning and stretch opportunities to continuously update HR capabilities and support to the business; being an advisor to a highly collaborative, impressive and forward-thinking leadership team, with a focus on offering a best-in-class service.

Amongst our HR strategies and projects, there continues to be a focus in talent pool which includes talent retention, talent development, future/talent engagement and the talent “readiness”. The person in this role will directly supporting the business leaders in U.S. as well as key functional leaders supporting the JSS businesses (Canada & Brazil). In this role, s/he will act as a holistic business partner for the $1B USD revenue business. S/he will partner closely with all functions from sales, marketing up to R&D leadership to ensure we employ strategic talent practices as a key enabler for high performance. S/he will collaborate as needed with the HR leader for Global Supply Chain and other functional HR team members to develop and drive best practices across the business.

As a Director HR, Joining Systems & Solutions (JSS) Americas, you’ll be part of our Human Resource team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to:

  • Collaborates with business leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to talent.

  • Serve as an HR business partner; own the strategic talent management plans and execution, with particular emphasize on the capabilities and talent needed to support Commercial Excellence, share growth, global OEM penetration, increased revenues and operating margins as well as transformational projects.

  • Key player in Strategic planning, contribute to BU Leadership team as a thought leader and business partner.

  • Work closely with leadership in the implementation of policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or region level across the organization and locations.

  • Influence and facilitate the process and project of organizational change and development, leading to improved organizational and individual performance.

  • Acts as a champion of workplace continuous improvement, including employee engagement and culture initiatives. Keeping management updated with the latest industry HR best practices and recommendations for implementation.

  • Execute global and local HR programs and processes (e.g., talent management, succession planning, talent development, development planning, compensation planning)

  • Provide business leaders with data, findings, and recommendations of client organizations’ “health” by assessing trends in performance, span of control, employee engagement, manager feedback, attrition, and turnover, etc.

  • Collaborate with others (COEs, SS, cross-functional partners, HRBP peers, etc.) to build world class initiatives

  • Responsible of HR Budget and managing to the business P/L to drive efficient workforce planning

The Person:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in HR or relevant major.

  • At least 10 years of HR leadership experience with a track record of deploying high level HR strategies to support growth business in a transformational environment

  • Strong track record of supporting an exempt workforce in the Industrial space to include Commercial, Engineering and Product management with strong partnerships with Global Supply Chain, preferred

  • Familiar with a fast-paced and matrix organization with proven abilities to be a coach and mentor

  • High energy with a penchant for progress, willing to take a challenge and move the organization forward in a growth oriented environment with lean resources; can do attitude

  • Management/Leadership expereince in developing a team

  • Skilled, culturally sensitive relationship builder to be able to engage people in a positive manner and invest time and energy into stakeholder management

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure

  • Workday a plus!

  • Experience in culture and engagement initiatives and solutions (i.e., Gallup, Kenexa, Top Employer, Best Places to Work)

  • Listens, willing to understand the historical business model but also willing to think differently, ask provocative questions and develop business to one team, working together seamlessly

  • Collaborates well within Americas, Industrial and SBD, learns who to go to and how to leverage resources to create progress

  • Actively contributes to the business planning and strategy process; valued team player who delivers impactful results

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, visionary and able to communicate ideas in a way that builds alignment and support.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to coach, influence, and partner with various levels of employees. Demonstrated experience and a passion for strong collaboration with others (COEs, SS, cross-functional partners, HRBP peers, etc.)
